But, that’s just a teeny, tiny faux pas compared to what I did on Wednesday night.

As you know, this blog is kind of a journal about this lead generation contest in which I am (I was) participating.  I think I mentioned they were providing training on how to use the LeadSupreme system, and in fact, they’ve given us a lot of great supportive information that will be useful in my next incarnation. 

However, Wednesday night was THE NIGHT!  The webinar where we were introduced to the system…yep.  And, I missed all of it. 

Did I do it on purpose?  No siree.  Just a klutz when it comes to these damn, newfangled things like webinars.  Have you ever done this?  Well, I got on the computer end of it OK.  I saw the screen, saw a cursor moving about, but no sound.  Why was that, do you imagine? 

I know now.  I was supposed to pick up the telephone and dial in at the same time!  Go figure. 

Anyway, I missed it.  And I’m kicking myself.  I have requested a recording of that critical training, but have not received it.  I’m not saying I won’t receive it; I just haven’t received it yet.  If there is a recording.  But, it’s Friday already.  I’m still at the post, and everyone else is charging headlong down the track.

Life sure sucks sometimes.

Anyway, as a way of appeasing myself, I am repeating all the things I did learn about:  I don’t know if I’m allowed to say exactly what I’ve learned.  It might give away big top-secret stuff and be illegal or something.  Suffice it to say, I learned enough about generating leads manually that I am going to be able to do this without the software.  Only, definitely not as well.  Otherwise, why have special software, right?

OK, I’ve babbled enough.  If I happen to get that recording sometime within the next 24 hours, I’m going to try and catch up with those other horses.  Otherwise, I am going to say bye-bye, and go cry for awhile, then get on with my life again.

Anybody else done something like this before?  It might make me feel better if I know I’m not the only silly-willy out there.

Time to state a positive, clear intention, then get out my slingshot to stagger that Fear Giant.

Intention:  To finish the contest, no matter what.  Follow the instructions, do as I am told, and take one micro-step at a time.

Secondary Intention:  Learn as much as possible.

Being a rookie to ALL of this, including Blogging, RSS Feeds, SEO for blogs, on top of figuring out the rules of the contest is exciting and scary at the same time. 

I need to find some support…and I’m hoping this blog will eventually attract at least a few people to egg me on, to encourage me, to be there when I finally hit the FINISH line, all dusty and sweaty.

That’s it for today.  Tomorrow I’m going to describe exactly what we’re learning about the LeadSupreme process, one a day-by-day basis, since Day 1.

 There was the opportunity to test drive the Rolls Royce of lead generation software and win $10,000 smackeroos (along with the software for gratis).  All I had to do was generate the most leads out of of 1,000 like-minded contestants.  The uncanny chemistry of greed and competitiveness took over.

Here’s the scoop:

Dr. Mike and Howie Schwartz, owners of LeadSupreme, came up with a dazzlingly devious way to:

* demonstrate how well their software works to attract 1,000 contestants

* allow those contestants to pay $20 for the privilege of (and commitment to) competing

* train them in the use of LeadSupreme and let them capture their own leads using the actual system (and no doubt get you hooked on the stuff)

* give all contestants an opportunity to become affiliates and earn some cash while training, testing and competing.

* give the winner $10,000 and the full version of LeadSupreme software

Did I mention I am a rank amateur at this whole thing? 

Long on theory and short on actual experience; this is definitely going to be a longshot.  But you know what?  The worst that can happen is I pay my $20 and maybe learn a LOT about lead generation.  A medium-good result would be if I actually made a few bucks with the affiliate program.  And like those lottery ticket ads say, “Hey, you never know”, I could be the big winner.

 If I lose, for sure I’ll be the big whiner.

Anyway, I’d love to stay and chat, but I’ve got some lead generation to do.  But, I plan to keep posting here on my experiences, and after the competition is over, I’m going to tell you all about what this blog is REALLY about.
